a martini is a classic mixed drink. guess what the ingredients are? gin and vermouth. ;) now. making a martini 'wet' you add more vermouth to the same amount of gin. to make a martini 'dry' you add less vermouth to once more, the same amount of gin. so. her handing those two a 'dry martini' means there's too much gin in their drinks and not enough vermouth. so that's how Gin knew she was the waiter... SHE was the extra Vermouth. ;)

also. there's a vodka martini alternate recipe too. it's made the same way, but you replace the gin with vodka. :> but it is not the classic martini recipe, that one was developed before the prevalence of Russian made vodka, outside of Russia. or vodka being popular with distillers who weren't Russian emigrants/expatriates/refugees.

also, when you're a waiter/waitress... it is improper in both the European and American Formal Schools to reach across the table and serve the guest/patron/person furthest from you, first. you're supposed to serve from the right hand ALWAYS! of the person immediately closest to you when you approach their table. for example, in that scene? when she approaches the table she is immediately to Gin's right-hand side. but she reaches ACROSS the table and gives Vodka his drink first, then gives Gin his. if she was doing it properly, she would have set Gin's drink down by his right-hand side. then walked around the table either clockwise or counterclockwise and set Vodka's drink down by his right-hand side.

THAT'S why Gin put his cig out in Vodka's martini. ;) he was tired of Vermouth 'fencing' with them. that service 'error' can be considered an accident by the waiter/tress or a subtle 'slap in the face' or 'snub' as the person the wait staff is reaching 'over' gets 'passed over' for prompt/first service.

also, don't do it on crowded streets, waiting for that train or bus at the stop, crosswalk marking signs/lights and so-forth. the Japanese actually think you're spreading MORE germs by snotting into a rag than sneezing or 'sucking it back up in your nose'... snorting... inhaling... sniffling... and so forth. step out of the crowd, turn your face into a corner of the bus/train, go into a bathroom stall-not just inside the bathroom entrance annnd let that puppy snot like mad into your pocket-rag. the guys and gals in the 'public areas' of the toilet will not like you snotting right there. of course, if you're almost all alone, not many Japanese folks will worry or get irritated at your rudeness. plus, if you're wearing a mask (before covid of course) folks would do their best to 'give you extra space' for fear of catching whatever you do have.

Because at this case if we go by the canon time that has gone that is nearly half a year. They (Conan/Shinichi) would've seen over 2 murder cases a day every day since conan appeared. That would not make sense and Mouri would’ve been suspected for the murders and gone to jail. I still think that all those characters exist outside the book and maybe we’re helping and giving ideas to Yasaku Kudo to write his book. That would’ve made more sense? nope, impossible... because the mangaka himself has boffoed his own timeline and butchered it so severely that even manga readers don't know how much 'in franchise time' has passed since manga chapter 1 and what's being published right now. somebody i've trusted previously in these gogodisqus comments mentioned the mangaka made a critical mistake ONCE in an interview. he stated the 'in franchise time' was going to be around six months. of course, he made this statement around year 2 or year 3 of the manga's publishing in the 1990's! if you just lump in the various hiatus periods, he's taken... i think the manga started in 1996? hold on lemme check... oops i'm a few years off. January 5, 1994... i think the anime started in 1996. so NEXT YEAR in just a few months! is the manga's 30th Anniversary. i seriously think no author could keep a coherent timeline for 30 years.

mkay, so how'd she appear 'grown up' with Gin and Vodka in the 1st scene of this episode? did the Black Organization already figure out a full antidote and a new formula of APTX that won't kill more than 99% of the time? remember, Haibara herself said she tested it on HUNDREDS of mice while she was developing it. during those tests only ONE mouse regressed to childhood. that means that LESS THAN ONE PERCENT of mice that were given the drug had their age reversed. two people, her and Conan BOTH regressing is nigh on impossible statistically, let alone Vermouth being a 3rd person.

Are you saying a 0,5% possibility is impossible. Maybe she gave them a version with a higher procentige (prototype) and they gave it back to her. That explains why she confidently took the drug. Then because she didn’t release the new prototype‘s recipe. They stayed with the old one with a 1% chance. Thats a possibility. Explains this rare fenominon. Also theres is a theory going around saying that Genta is the leader of the BO and that he took the drug. Tho i can prove it wrong many times over.

yeah i'm already up to episode 525. so i'm almost 300 episodes down the line from this one. i decided to take a break from the TV series after 525 and i started on the movies. whatever that dude said, made no sense to start with... and wasn't correct, if you interpreted it as i did, that Vermouth has taken the drug herself.

Haibara did the best she could to delete any info on herself and her sister from the BO before she tried to escape. but pictures of 'Sherry' show up in Gin and Vermouth's hands more than once after ep230. heck in Movie 5 Gin and Vodka are ransacking Haibara's older sister Miyano Akemi's apartment.

Well, it's true that what OP state did not actually correct, it is more of a popular theory and speculation, because of what happen in yukiko story and vermouth mother (i dont know if you have reached this part or not in episodes 500 bcs i only read the manga before). as for the rest.. yeah just keep watching. have a great day!

as far as i remember somehow Vermouth is older than Shinichi's mom, was disguised as her own 'mother' for decades, her 'mother' was a famous actress in the US, as her 'mother' Vermouth was a fellow student under the previous Phantom Thief (Kaito Kid's dad) with Shin's mom... annnd when Vermouth 'killed her mother' off as a persona she appeared at her own mother's funeral out of disguise but looking just as young... if not a decade or so younger... than Shin's mom. annd Vermouth claimed to be... i can never remember the actresses' name... Sharon? something? well her daughter.

Shin and Ran met Vermouth's 'mother persona' at the Golden Apple musical case in NYC and again in NYC when Vermouth was disguised as a Japanese man with long bleached blond hair who was being chased by the FBI (and Akai) as a serial killer. ShinRan saved Vermouth's life while she was in her 'male serial-killer persona' annnd that's why she's got a soft-spot for ShinRan etcetera etcetera etcetera.

Vermouth shows this by not shooting Ran while Ran is hiding Haibara under her body... just blasting the pavement around the girls... even though later on in the same case Vermouth uses a few shots from her pistol, looking into the left outside mirror of the car she's driving, annd blows up Jodie-sensei's rental car's gas-tank. even Akai is quite impressed with Vermouth's accuracy there.

later later on when Conan/Shin and Vermouth are sitting next to each other in her car she doesn't kill Conan/Shinichi even though she knows exactly who he is and how he got tiny. once more showing she's got a soft spot for Shin... :>

so yeah, i pretty much remember the whole thing. :> i just started the franchise in March of this year... therefore most of it is pretty fresh in my memory.

yep, that pretty much what make the whole theory or speculation regarding her drank the aptx. because she (sharon and chris) never seen together in public and chris before her "mother" funeral is never make a public appearance and only can be seen in movie/interviews. Therefore put it this way, if she really is the same person then she has to do something to make her young again, to the point even beyond make up, because her physical abilities does not look like someone who is at minimum 40 years old let alone older. this is what make the theory, because it correlate with the theory that the aptx does not make you a child but make you younger 10 years or so (because shin and ai who is a 17 year old turned into a 7 year old). if you think shin mother, etc also look young sadly i can not tell the explanation just yet because that is explained in later episodes.

But of couse that is still just a theory and speculation, even to the latest chapter her original identity and backstory is still a mystery

and now in the recent chapter/episode that theory is somewhat proved wrong. Because MAJOR SPOILER DONT READ IF YOU CANT STAND IT There IS another aptx victim and is someone mother, aka old people and she DOES going back to child body
